We have a lot on our plate

In may, our world tour was just an idea. Today it’s a real project with goals which really matter for us, motivate us and get us ahead. So now, let’s make it real !

On this page, you can follow the progress of our project : partners research, intinerary drawing up, equipments acquisition and our physical preparation ! No doubt we have a lot on our plate !

Itinerary: Hello Central America!

If we kept silent during February, it was not aimlessly… If we kept silent during February, it is to amaze you in March! We have indeed 2 news to make public. Without further delay, here is the first one!

As we were studying our itinerary more in detail, we revealed few incoherences which brought us to question… and to eventually modify few sections of our route. This map shows our new itinerary!

How did we set up this itinerary ? What did we think of when we prepared our route across the world? The answers are in the following lines!

Objective Food sovereignty

Jan. 17th | 0 comments

You saw it it in our video, you read it on our website, our interest for food leads us to wonder where our food comes from. We wanted to give a deeper meaning to our world tour, guided by these words: “food security”. Our goal “the Roots of Food” will lead us to meet local associations, that are campaigning for food security.

These are the words we thought the most appropriate to define our project. We have been dealing with this topic deeper and deeper, and we now realize that it is important to add the concept of “food sovereignty” to that of food security. Through this article we want to clarify our point of view. What do we mean by “food security”? Which further scopes does “food sovereignty” bring?

Feedback on two weeks in an oyster farm

Jan. 11th | 0 comments

As we told you, from 15th to 28th of december , we worked in an oyster farm. The situation is simple: during these two weeks, oyster farmers play with almost all their annual business sales. We got hired in Mr Patrick DUZON’s farm, located near Marennes (middle of the Atlantic coast). About fifteen people work there during the whole year… but to provide the needed supply for christmas feast (in France, people love eating oysters for christmas), almost 100 seasonal workers give them a hand.

We were part of these workers. And this “we” do not mean only Ride The Flavour team, Damien and Leo. Two friends of us, Elise and Anne, also came to provide additional support. Every morning, we were four friends hitting the oyster road, direction Marennes.

Here is our story…

Nothing is gonna stop us!

Nov. 18th | 0 comments

This Saturday 17th November 2012, we proved that nothing is gonna stop us when our world trip is at stake. We are not afraid anymore of words such as “tiring” or, other example, “ridiculous”…

Also to fund our world trip, we accepted an unusual job : we spent a whole day distributing flyers in La Rochelle. The originality? The uniform…

We disguised ourself. You’re allowed to laugh 😉

Ride the Flavour becomes an OYSTER FARMER!

Nov. 13th | 0 comments

In December, to fund its world trip, Ride the Flavour will become an OYSTER FARMER!

In Marennes (South of La Rochelle), centre of fattened oysters, we will work from 15th to 28th December in an oyster farm. This year, we thus won’t celebrate Christmas with our family… but finally, achieving our trip around the world is worth this sacrifice, isn’t it? 😉

So, if you eat oysters for Christmas (as we do in France), think about it… We may have prepared them!
